ConnectTherapy TM
With Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapist Jonathan Schubert
ConnectTherapy is a whole-body approach to physiotherapy which aims to find the root cause of your pain or problems and not just treat the symptoms you may be feeling.
Imagine a position, movement or activity that is painful to perform or even 'just doesn't feel right'...
ConnectTherapy believe that it is fairly common that in a task such as the one you are imagining there are areas in your body:
All of these areas of non-optimal movement (painful or not), are included in the rest of your assessment as they may be contributing to your problem. Some of them without you knowing it.
Everything in your body is 'connected', so it makes sense that when particular areas in your body aren't functioning properly then other areas may be having to compensate. It can then be the areas that are compensating that then begin to experience pain, while the underlying causes are elsewhere in the body.
ConnectTherapy involves a very detailed 1 hour assessment where Jonathan will:
The aim is that by the end of the assessment Jonathan will have a detailed understanding of the key regions in your body that require treatment to help you achieve your goals.
Once started, treatment then consists of a combination of:
For different individuals there will be a different balance of how much release is required and how much movement retraining is required.
If you are interested in a whole body approach to treatment and you have the goal of identifying the root causes of your issues, then give our clinic a call and talk to our staff about booking a ConnectTherapy assessment with Jonathan.

ConnectTherapy believe that it is fairly common that in a task such as the one you are imagining there are areas in your body:
- That are performing optimally for the task
- That are also not working optimally for the task. Some of these areas may be painful or not feel right and some of these areas may feel fine
All of these areas of non-optimal movement (painful or not), are included in the rest of your assessment as they may be contributing to your problem. Some of them without you knowing it.

ConnectTherapy involves a very detailed 1 hour assessment where Jonathan will:
- Discuss with you your: goals, current experiences of your body, daily activities, hobbies, sports and any past injuries. Your past injuries (even if they have healed) can still be having a lasting impact.
- Assess your whole body movement patterns and the ways that different areas respond to each other
The aim is that by the end of the assessment Jonathan will have a detailed understanding of the key regions in your body that require treatment to help you achieve your goals.
Once started, treatment then consists of a combination of:
- Releasing areas of tension that are contributing to your non-optimal movement. This is achieved through a variety of techniques
- Teaching exercises to retrain the way you move
For different individuals there will be a different balance of how much release is required and how much movement retraining is required.
